Rafael Salvatierra

Starting as a trusted board member of Luma Financial Technologies in 2019 appointed by Bank of America, Rafael is now in charge of leading Luma’s Americas Division. Prior to joining Luma, he served as the Head of Product Structuring, Origination and UHNW Solutions at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch until May 2022. He joined Merrill in 2018 from Citigroup where he spent the previous 10 years as the Head of Multi-Asset Structuring and Cross-Asset Advisory within the Global Markets organization and the Private Bank. He started his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in the Equity Derivatives division of Global Markets and soon ascended to several senior roles. 
 
Rafael has more than 20 years of experience in trading, structuring, originating, marketing, and executing transactions on both the buy-side and sell-side for institutional and private clients based across the Americas and Europe; with product focus on solutions linked to all asset classes involving securitized and unfunded instruments with embedded vanilla and exotic optionality. Rafael holds two master’s degrees from Columbia University, one in Mathematical Finance and the other in Economic Policy, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration.
