Who is a woman who inspires you and why?
In life, my mother Germania, because she is a warrior who has always given me the greatest example of overcoming and the importance of hard and constant work. She knew how to raise two children as a single parent who today are successful professionals (the first two in our whole family). Professionally, Natalie [Bah], because she is a clear example that with constancy, arduous work, and professionalism a women can be successful in the world of finance and life. She is an extraordinary leader, professional, and family woman, who has been my mentor and guide since my beginning in Luma

What is the greatest piece of advice you would want to give a young woman starting in fintech?
Although it seems difficult or impossible, with arduous work, responsibility, organization, and constancy you can be successful in all aspects of your life.

Our mission is to simplify alternative investments and empower advisors to deliver better client outcomes. How does your unique perspective and background help contribute to the success of Luma’s mission?
Through our team’s structure, I get to lead the improvement and experience of Latin American and European clients, being able to reduce the delivery times of orders and products, which directly impacts how those clients do business with Luma. Also, through the quality assurance of the products, I am improving the quality of the data that is produced by Luma, which in the end is the greatest attraction that the company has for its customers.

Product Designer

Who is a woman who inspires you and why?
Sallie L. Krawcheck. I admire her for her role in advocating for women in both finance and tech. She has been called “the most powerful woman on Wall Street.” She is the co-founder and CEO of Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women. Ellevest’s goal is to work to close the gender investing gap in the U.S. by “redefining investing for women.”

What is the greatest piece of advice you would want to give a young woman starting in fintech?
Be confident and assertive. As a young woman in a male-dominated field, it can be challenging to assert yourself and gain credibility. Finding mentors and role models who can guide you, offer feedback, and share their experiences can be incredibly valuable in the early stages of your career.

Our mission is to simplify alternative investments and empower advisors to deliver better client outcomes. How does your unique perspective and background help contribute to the success of Luma’s mission?
Luma deals with complex financial data and as a product designer I help make that data more accessible and understandable for users. By presenting data in a more user-friendly way, Luma can help users make more informed decisions and feel more confident in their financial management.

Software Development Engineer

Who is a woman who inspires you and why?
Although it may be cliché, a woman who inspires me would definitely be my mom. Whether it be her dedication to being a mother, her diligence in her job, or even her commitment to providing fresh, home-cooked meals daily, she sets an example for those around her. She’s still my cheerleader, while also being my motivator and pushing me to never settle – to always strive for more until I’ve reached the best version of myself. She inspires me to reach these new heights even when I don’t necessarily believe in myself, which is why no one else is more deserving of being the one that inspires me.

What is the greatest piece of advice you would want to give a young woman starting in fintech?
Believe in yourself! It’s okay to be wrong sometimes, but don’t let it shatter your confidence. It’s easy to feel like you don’t know enough yet or don’t have enough experience, but you definitely know more than you think. Don’t be shy to ask questions to expand your knowledge base either!

Our mission is to simplify alternative investments and empower advisors to deliver better client outcomes. How does your unique perspective and background help contribute to the success of Luma’s mission?
In order to help Luma deliver better client outcomes, I get to use my unique experience to help improve the Lifecycle Manager platform. My strengths as a backend engineer shine here since I work adding new features, tackling logic-based problems, and expanding the platform’s architecture. I also empower other Luma associates to contribute to the success of Luma’s mission by helping foster a happy working environment by hosting brain breaks. I help to foster this unified front and collaboration so we can all continue delivering our best work.

Who is a woman who inspires you and why?
Jane Goodall for her adventurous spirit when traveling as a young woman to unknown lands and living in the jungle with wild animals, for her courage in challenging the beliefs of the scientific community, and for her years of service in efforts to conserve the environment and protect the animals who live amongst it.

What is the greatest piece of advice you would want to give a young woman starting in fintech?
Know your strengths. Find opportunities that align with your strengths and become known as the person who excels with these skills. Find a mentor and ally. Seek feedback often and focus on asking questions instead of always feeling like you need to have the answer.

Our mission is to simplify alternative investments and empower advisors to deliver better client outcomes. How does your unique perspective and background help contribute to the success of Luma’s mission?
At Luma, the mission of the Operations team is to ensure timely and accurate data to provide a positive client experience. Coming from a background in many operations functions at large organizations I am able to apply some of the concepts I have learned [in many operations functions] and adapt them to stay ahead of the needs of our clients.

Adaptability will help you navigate various situations in the workplace and generally in life. Often, changes are out of your control, but you can control how you react and use ever-changing situations to show up and lead with flexibility and positivity.

Our mission is to simplify alternative investments and empower advisors to deliver better client outcomes. How does your unique perspective and background help contribute to the success of Luma’s mission?
Growing up in a small but innovative country and working in large organizations has influenced my mindset to be client focused, solution oriented, and deliver fast which I believe are the core values in Luma.
